Valentine’s Day

O Dia Internacional do Amor é comemorado no dia 14 de fevereiro, o “Valentine’s Day”.

What does Valentine’s Day celebrate?

Valentine’s Day is a holiday that celebrates love.

When is Valentine’s Day celebrated?

February 14th.

Who celebrates this day?

The day is widely celebrated in the United States, but is not a federal holiday. It is also celebrated in other areas of the world.

Children celebrate the day with cards of friendship and candy.

What do people do to celebrate?

Traditional gifts include cards, flowers, and chocolates.
Decorations for Valentine’s Day are generally in red and pink colors and include hearts, Cupid with his arrow, and red roses. Cupid is a popular symbol of the holiday because in mythology his arrow strikes the heart of people and causes them to fall in love.

In the United States children often exchange Valentine’s Day cards with their classmates. These are usually just fun, silly cards or about friendship rather than romantic love. They often attach a piece of candy to the cards.

Memory Games

A fun-filled and worthwhile activity for both adults and children is playing memory games. Not only do these games sharpen the memory, but they also allow us to socialize and have fun time, which enhances our overall well-being.

There are many great benefits when one plays memory-enhancing games, some of which are:

Memory games exercise the brain, making it more sharp and alert. If you play memory games at least thirty minutes every day, your concentration and focusing ability will improve.
Memory games have been shown to help prevent some memory-related illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Memory games enhance other brain functions, such as attention level, and reading and reasoning skills.

Concentration is another name for memory.
Cards are laid face down on a surface and two cards are flipped face up for each turn. The object of the game is to turn over pairs of matching cards. If a player succeeds in matching a pair, they have another turn and continue until they fail to match two cards. The object of the game is to find the most matches.

  • Concentration is played by one or with any number of people. It is an especially good game for young children. However, adults find it challenging and stimulating as well. The Concentration Game is often used in quiz shows and employed as an educational game.

Todas as receitas estavam deliciosas. Agradecemos aos alunos e aos pais tamanha dedicação e parceria!

Strawberry? Any flavor you like!

Milkshakes are one of the most iconic American desserts. They’re refreshingly cool, slurp-ably sweet and come in pretty much any flavor you can imagine. These recipes are making a comeback.

How to Make the Best Milkshake Ever
You’ll need:

1/3 cup milk. You can use 2%, whole milk, or a blend of milk and half-and-half.
1-1/2 cups ice cream (vanilla makes a good base for most shakes, or you can use a flavor like chocolate)
Delicious mix-ins! Think a swirl of chocolate syrup, peanut butter, a chopped banana or other fruit, a handful of chocolate or butterscotch chips (we could go on and on…)
A blender, of course. You can use a classic stand blender-or an immersion blender if you want to make it right in your glass.

Step 1: Combine the ingredients

Send your ingredients straight to the blender. For best results, put in your milk first. That will get the blender mixing quickly. Be sure to let your ice cream soften before scooping. If it’s too hard, you might end up having to add more milk, which thins the shake.
We’re going to make a strawberry shake, so we’ll add 1/2 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries and 1 tablespoon strawberry preserves.

Step 2: Blend ’til smooth.

It’s time to blend away. You’ll want to keep an eye on the consistency. This recipe creates a Goldilocks-style shake: not too firm and not too soft (runny). Of course, you can always customize it either way. Use less milk for a thicker, spoonable shake; more for a thinner, sippable one.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Pour your milkshake into a chilled glass to serve. It tastes great straight-up or topped with a tower of whipped cream.

Mapa Mental

A Birthday Party

O conteúdo “A Birthday Party”, no livro do 5º ano, trabalha festas e o vocabulário correspondente.
